In-room facilities include: eat meet Choose from three of some of London’s finest rooms for private dining, corporate entertaining, meetings and events. hotel critic: harrison brown A superbly crafted, opulent Five Star hotel. This is really a beautifully building restored to traditional standards fit for a King or Queen! Many of the features are original or copies of the originals, maintaining the elegance of the past. On entering, this hotel oozes luxury. Your senses are first tantalised by the expanse of marble used throughout the foyer, then again after gracefully decending to Andrew Turner's superb restaurant and wine bar on the lower ground level. There are too many features to write about in this short paragraph, however I must bring your attention to the small cigar lounge with humidor run on an honesty box basis (nice!), and also the Spa area with the most amazing Hammam - definitely to be experienced! The bedrooms are superbly appointed with the most up-to-date telephone system in Britain, which controls everything from your bedroom lights to you climate control - no need to get out of the sumptuous beds - sexy or what! This certainly is a grand hotel, and very under-estimated because it is not in Park Lane (which would be reflect in the rates!). However, location is very good, between Cromwell and Old Brompton Road. This is a very nice area between South Kensington and Chelsea and one which, until now, lacked choice in Five Star hotels......and with the discerning clientele of this area, word is travelling fast. Superb rates from £185 double make this well worth trying out. |
